Haute Couture June 30th to July 5th

The greatest fashion designers are introducing their fall/winter collection for 2013/2014. This year, fashion shows are happening in extraordinary places in Paris such as le Grand Palais, the Palais Royal’s Garden, the Salomon de Rothschild’s hotel, Palais de Chaillot, Palais de Tokyo, Musée Bourdelle, or the Palais Brongniart. Haute Couture is a legally protected and controlled label that can only be used by those fashion houses, which have been granted the designation by the French Ministry of Industry. The group of companies that enjoy the Haute Couture label is reviewed annually. Versace opened the 2013 womenswear season on Sunday with Naomi Campbell on the catwalk (she hadn't walked a Versace show since 1997, the year of death of Gianni Versace). The collection was sexy, sophisticated and original. On Monday, the house of Christian Dior presented a collection in the name of freedom and multicultural influences while Chanel, on Tuesday, showed a futuristic and very feminine collection in an apocalyptic atmosphere in the Grand Palais. Today, Viktor & Rolf return to Haute Couture after a thirteen year hiatus. Rad Hourani will present his collection tomorrow. He was the first unisex couturier in history to be invited by the Fédération Française de la Haute Couture in 2012! You can check the schedule below.
