"Paris Haute Couture" Hotel de Ville March 2nd - July 6th

The exhibition entitled 'Paris Haute Couture' pays tribute to a tradition of haute couture that was born in Paris. The city of Paris, in association with Swarovski, will present a collection of 100 luxurious designer dresses and gowns. These pieces have been chosen from the prestigious collections of the Musée Galliera, the Paris fashion museum. In addition to the dresses, the Hôtel de Ville will also present sketches by the likes of Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel or Yves Saint Laurent, and photographs chronicling the development of the designs (seamstresses, pattern makers, designers). The exhibition showcases pieces from the late 1800s to today. You will see some iconic pieces, such as the classic black and white Chanel suit or the Dior "Bonbon" dress. Included designers are: Worth, Doucet, Poiret, Lanvin, Vionnet, Patou, Chanel, Molyneux, Rochas, Maggy Rouff, Jacques Heim, Nina Ricci, Schiaparelli, Jacques Fath, Balenciaga, Grès, Balmain, Carven, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Cardin, Yves Saint Laurent, Courrèges, Jean Paul Gaultier, Lacroix, Alaïa, Margiela...
