Galerie Perrotin - Ryan McGinley and Sophie Calle -November 13th-January 11th

If you are walking around the Marais, go and check out the Galerie Perrotin which has two exhibitions on. RYAN MCGINLEY "Body Loud" Galerie Perrotin is showing about 20 photographs from American photographer Ryan McGinley. In 2003, at age 25, he was the youngest artist to receive a solo exhibition at The Whitney Museum of American Art (“The Kids Are Alright”). Entitled "Body Loud", the selection of photos are a continuation of the New York-based artist’s signature road-trip photographs. Since 2005, he and his assistants travel around the United States to capture non-professional models in a variety of natural settings. RyanMcG Nov 13, 2013 - Jan 11, 2014 Galerie Perrotin Paris - 76 rue de Turenne 75003 Paris SOPHIE CALLE "Dérobés" Sophie Calle, is one of France's most famous conceptual artist and one of the most important artist of our time. "Dérobés", reexamines the 1990 theft at the Isabella Gardner Museum where 13 objects were stolen. Calle asked curators, guards, conservators, and other Museum staff members what they remembered of the missing pieces. Calle used text from the interviews and the photographic images to create a visual meditation on absence and memory, as well as reflection on the emotional power works of art hold on their viewers. The exhibition is divided in three rooms: 1. "What Do You See?" Calle once again questioned people in the Museum’s Dutch Room, but this time she did not mention the missing paintings to the staff and visitors with whom she spoke. She asked each viewer to respond to what they saw before them. 2. "Purloined" 3.
