Opera Garnier - A must see

We highly recommend you to visit the Opera Garnier. We are always blown away by its beauty when we have the chance to see a ballet or an opera there. The Opera was designed by Charles Garnier for Emperor Napleon III as part of the great Parisian reconstruction project carried out by Baron Haussmann. The construction began in 1862 and finished in 1875. It is a building of great opulence. The red and gold auditorium has 1900 red velvet seats and is lit by a 8 tonnes crystal and bronze chandelier. The ceiling was painted by Marc Chagall in 1962. We could not resist taking pictures when we went last week.
