Festival of lights at the Jardin des Plantes: Espèces en voie d'Illumination

From November 16th to January 15th, the Jardin des Plantes is hosting its first Light Festival, called Espèces en Voie d’Illumination (Species in the Process of Enlightenment). The Light Show is a great experience, for kids and adults, with monumental light structures set in the alleys of the Jardin des Plantes.

This event aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting endangered species and the environment. The journey is divided in four parts: creatures that disappeared 65 million years ago (mammoths, dinosaurs...), creatures exterminated by humans, a 30 meter long white shark, current endangered species, and animals representative of the current biodiversity.

The Ménagerie alleys are also paced with light flowers and other decoration.
