In 1906, Elektra bought together the leading German composer Richard Strauss and the librettist Hugo von Hofmannsthal. This complex one act opera, with its huge orchestra and vocal writing, pushes singing technique to its limits.

Librettist Lorenzo da Ponte and Mozart collaborated on two blockbuster operas: The Marriage of Figaro and Don Giovanni. Così fan tutte was their final work together. It is Mozart's opera about testing the ties of love.
